Worbis
Worbis Bear - Artist bear Sabine Klett
jointed 6 times
limited to 250 pieces
On the southern border of the Harz in Worbis, Germany, the first bear park was opened for the preservation of the European brown bear. In support of the bear park, the German teddy bear magazine "Teddy & Co.” initiated a contest for the best design of a European brown bear. The brown bear designed by Sabine Klett and manufactured by HERMANN-Coburg, won the contest. A portion of the profits from production of this brown bear goes to the "Bear Park WORBIS”.
Sabine Klett studied at the University of cologne with emphasis on art and textile design to become a teacher. After her second state examination and several years on the job she turned her hobby into her new career and became a bear maker. Nowadays her bears are known as "Kletterbären" (climbing bears).
